Navigators & General, part of the Zurich Group, is increasing the standard level of third-party and passenger indemnity under its Yacht and Motorboat and Smallcraft policies from £2m to £3m from January 1, 2000.
Director Rod Daniel said: "Navigators felt it was essential to take this initiative to ensure we maintain the high standards of financial protection our clients expect. The rising tide of litigation is having an inevitable impact on premiums in both marine and other classes of insurance but adequate third-party liability cover is now more important for boat owners than ever."
