Gallagher to head up broker’s operations in Chicago, Itasca, Wisconsin and Iowa

Gallagher International senior executive Patrick Gallagher is to leave the UK after landing a US-based role within the Arthur J Gallagher group.

Gallagher, son of group chief executive J Patrick Gallagher, currently holds several roles in the UK-based Gallagher International business. These include managing director of Gallagher London’s worldwide property/casualty division and head of retail at Gallagher Heath.

Gallagher Heath was formed through Gallagher’s purchase of UK broker Heath Lambert in 2011.

In his new role, Gallagher will be executive vice-president for Arthur J Gallagher’s operations in Chicago, Itasca, Wisconsin and Iowa.

Gallagher joined the broking group through an internship programme in 2000, becoming a full-time employee in 2002 after his graduation from Boston College.

He relocated to the UK in 2008, taking up the post of managing director of the North American division of Gallagher London. He was later made managing director of Gallagher London’s worldwide property/casualty division.
