White-labelled software embeds into broker websites

PowerPlace and Open GI have launched software that lets brokers offer an SME quote-and-buy service directly to clients through their websites.

The white-labelled software can be embedded into brokers’ websites and is free, provided brokers transact a minimum amount of business through PowerPlace.

PowerPlace chief executive Nick Giddings said: “The micro end of SME has become increasingly receptive to internet trading over the past few years, with close to 30% of SMEs looking to the internet for these classes of policy. The PowerPlace question sets, with their comparative panels, are ideally placed to serve the needs of both the broker and the consumer in this space.”

Open GI Group chief executive Chris Guillaume said: “Commercial lines, including SME, has been a broker-dominated space for many years. But there are early signs that the broker element of micro-SME is coming under increasing pressure. Having a strategy for online client servicing will, in our view, help our broker partners to not only defend their position, but to grow it.”
