Probitas 1492 has appointed ProSight’s Marcus Bale as their new head of retail strategy and development

Probitas 1492 has appointed a new head of strategy and development for retail.

Marcus Bale joins from ProSight Specialty Insurance, and will lead the expansion of Probitas’s retail portfolio underpinned by cross-class, bespoke product propositions.

Chief executive Ash Bathia said of Bale’s appointment: “He brings valuable experience to the table, allowing us to continue to bring new and accretive business to the Lloyd’s market through innovative solutions.”

Bale spent over three years at ProSight, where he was an active underwriter. He has held a variety of leadership positions in both company and Lloyd’s markets, and has experience of developing commercial insurance portfolio across multiple channels of sale.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
