Paul Scott brings 30 years’ experience

QBE has appointed Paul Scott as head of motor and liability claims.

Scott, previously of Aviva, brings 30 years’ experience in motor, liability and large bodily injury claims to the newly created role.

Scott will be based in the Leeds office where he will report directly to claims director Dominic Clayden.

The appointment is part of a large scale recruitment drive for the company which is currently recruiting 100 new claims handlers and technicians as part of its newly created claims hub which has doubled QBE’s operation since recruiting began last May.

Clayden said: “I am delighted that Paul has chosen to join us. His experience and focus on claims analytics will be invaluable in shaping our consolidated motor and liability claims operations.

“We have a great technical claims capability supporting the undeniable strength of our underwriting. By closely aligning our claims teams with our underwriting colleagues we can maximise this market-leading technical claims expertise and ensure that we are much more oriented towards understanding and delivering the needs of our clients.”

QBE European Operations chief operations officer Joe Gordon said: “Our decision to create a claims hub in Leeds is part of a global strategy to create operational centres of excellence that enhance the quality of the service we provide our clients.   Leeds is a very vibrant city with a healthy insurance market and an excellent pool of experienced and talented professionals”
