QBE has opened its new aviation syndicate ahead of schedule.

The syndicate's active underwriter is Emilio Di Silvio and it will operate from boxes 125, 131 and 133 at Lloyd's as a sub-syndicate of Limit, QBE's managing agency.

Di Silvio said: “We want to provide a seamless and proactive service for all who work with us, brokers and clients alike.”

Steven Burns, chief executive of QBE European Operations, commented: “Limit has been a leading London-market aviation reinsurer for some years. This move allows us to expand our field of expertise to create an independent entity for the primary market.”

Emilio Di Silvio Syndicate 5555 was originally due to open next month.
