QBE has announced that the management of the professional indemnity (PI) portfolios of QBE Insurance and DA Constable
Syndicate 386 will be merged.
David Harries will head the combined PI portfolios in his new role as head of Professional Indemnity Underwriting for QBE.
Harries said: “The two books of business will continue to run in parallel for the immediate term and any form of integration will be carried out on a phased and considered approach. The advantage in this new approach for both brokers and clients is that we are providing enhanced
product delivery and distribution capabilities, crucial as the market place become more challenging and buyers needs become more sophisticated.”
Steven Burns, chief executive officer of QBE European Operations added: “We believe that this change will maintain our goal of supporting an underwriting-led
culture and will allow us to co-ordinate more efficiently the UK and international underwriting strategies of our professional indemnity accounts.”
