R&Q signs delegated underwriting agreements with Xpekt and Blagrove

Randall & Quilter has signed delegated underwriting agreements with two UK MGAs specialising in motor.

R&Q Insurance (Malta) has entered into delegated underwriting agreements with Xpekt and Blagrove Underwriting Agency.

Xpekt specialises in rural private and commercial vehicles, motorcycles and specialist vehicles with anticipated annual GWP of £15.6m while Blagrove specialises in UK fleet with expected annual GWP of £11.6m. R&Q said these deals are in addition to the UK motor book being written with Eridge Underwriting Agency and the Irish motor book with Footprint Underwriting DAC.

“We are delighted to have entered into these programmes with support provided by highly rated reinsurers,” R&Q chairman and chief executive Ken Randall said.

“The group is simplifying its strategy to focus on its core legacy acquisition activity and revenue generation through writing programme business from our Maltese (RQIM) and Florida (Accredited Surety & Casualty Company) licenced insurers. We have a full pipeline of opportunities across EU and US and I remain excited about this strategic development for the group.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
