Royal & SunAlliance's UK personal managing director Steve Broughton has retired, to be replaced by More Th>n managing director Adrian Brown.
His retirement after 37 years with the insurer came as R&SA announced the restructuring of its UK executive management team following Duncan Boyle's appointment as UK chief executive in April.
Boyle's appointment followed Paul Spencer's ousting from the position after a rumoured series of bust-ups with group chief executive Bob Mendelsohn.
The restructuring includes a move away from separate management boards for each of its customer-facing businesses, creating a single UK executive management team with responsibility for the whole UK business.
Newly joined commercial director Peter Webster will take over Broughton's job heading R&SA's UK healthcare and assistance business.
The insurer has also made three external appointments: Tony Brown has joined from Royal Bank of Scotland as strategy and change director, Peter Hutchison has joined from Standard Chartered Bank as finance director and Mandy Perrin has come from Sun Life of Canada to be HR director.
Ray Cox, previously underwriting director for UK commercial, has joined the management team as underwriting director.
Rod Kitchen, previously claims and corporate director of UK commercial, has joined the team as claims director.
Brown will now cover all of the UK personal lines business as personal director, including More Th>n and all intermediary and corporate partner business.
The roles of IS director Andrew Gillespie, London and specialist business director David McCallum and life director Stephan Pater remain unchanged.
