Royal & SunAlliance (R&SA) has taken further steps to streamline its business by handing over its caravan account to specialist caravan broker Caravan Guard.

With the insurer wanting to concentrate on its core personal line products, the R&SA leadership has decided to end its interest in the caravan market.

Kim Atkinson, account manager at R&SA said: “Caravan Guard is one of the leading caravan insurance specialists. It has the expertise in these markets so it was an easy decision to transfer control of these policies to its very capable team.”

Caravan Guard director Chris Nettleton, said: “We know we can provide first class expert service to these customers. We already have a proven track record of successfully completing transfers of business. We hope to announce the acquisition of a significant caravan account in the future.

“We acknowledge there will be insurers and intermediaries with books of caravan business that don't fit into their core business plans."
