Royal & Sun Alliance (R&SA) has become the first insurer to join the panel of high net worth (HNW) specialist Home & Legacy since the broker's purchase by Allianz Cornhill.

R&SA said the move would enable it to further expand its distribution network across the HNW sector.

Danny Venner, business manager for R&SA, said: "We have been given assurance that Home & Legacy will remain an independent intermediary and we are comfortable with that.

"We are aiming to increase our growth across HNW, which is a market that remains competitive, but is more sustainable than the standard home market."

He added: "HNW is a market where we would love to double our presence overnight. But price is not the key differentiator it is down to our broker selection."

' Motorcycle broker Bennetts has added R&SA to its panel. Bennetts will offer multi-bike policies via R&SA, while members of the British Motorbike Federation will be given access to discounted policies.
