Cross-selling expert Grimes leaves after just over a year

RBS Insurance customer insight director Nigel Grimes has left the company.

RBS told Insurance Times this morning that Grimes resigned.

RBS Insurance director of communications James Murray will replace Grimes in the interim.

RBS is cutting 3000 job in its global banking and markets business around the world.

Grimes is the former AirMiles chief and took up the role at RBS in September 2007. He was to exploit retention and cross-selling opportunities across the RBS portfolio, including Direct Line, Privilege and Churchill, as well as Green Flag.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
