Ed develops three-stage risk awareness programme

Wholesale and reinsurance broker Ed, formerly Cooper Gay, has launched a cyber risk awareness programme.

The programme, called the Ed Cyber Academy, aims to provide clients, business partners and underwriters insight into cyber crime and cyber security risks.

It will be led by Ed group chief innovation officer Peter Hacker.

The programme has three levels. In the final stage, scenarios will be used to stress-test how clients and insurers respond to a cyber attack.

Hacker said: “An in-depth understanding of the cyber risk landscape should not be the preserve of a specialist few.

“The Ed Cyber Academy will work to address this knowledge deficit. The academy will enable clients, partners and suppliers to gain a more in-depth understanding of how to mitigate and potentially transfer cyber security risks.”

Ed chief executive Steve Hearn added: “Cyber is one of the fastest growing business classes and a clear threat to the global economy. Innovation is at the forefront of Ed’s philosophy, and we are pleased to announce the launch of an initiative which will benefit our team, clients and partners.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
