US insurance holding company Aon has named Dennis Reding as the new chief executive officer of its underwriting subsidiary Combined Specialty Corporation.
Reding, who was previously president and chief executive of the US operations of global insurer ACE, will be responsible for completing the planned spin-off of Combined Specialty from Aon this spring.
He will also help to meet Aon's aim of expanding Combined Specialty's insurance underwriting operations to include direct property and casualty insurance and reinsurance.
In April 2001, Aon said it would create a second public company by spinning off its underwriting operations to shareholders as Combined Specialty Corporation.
Those operations include Combined Insurance Company of America, Virginia Surety Company and Aon Warranty Group.
