The ABI is carrying out a restructure to meet its budget needs for 2013.

The restructure is likely to involve redundancies, Insurance Times understands. ABI assistant director Nick Kirwan is on gardening leave as a result of the restructure.

An ABI spokesman said: ““We are making some changes to our staff structure to meet budget requirements and to ensure we are well positioned to deliver on our plans for 2013.

“As discussions are still ongoing, we are unable to comment on the situation regarding individual members of staff.”
