Leicester police have arrested two men and two women from two families for conspiracy to defraud insurers of tens of thousands of pounds, following raids in the city last week.

Thirteen officers took part in the raids on two addresses in Leicester and seized a number of insurance-related documents. The four suspects have been bailed for two months while police continue inquiries.

Bob Barnett, managing director of insurance investigation firm Ravenstone UK, worked closely with Leicestershire police on the case.

He said the arrests were unrelated to raids made by Derbyshire police last week on an accident management company and firm of solicitors in the county.
