Stuart Rootham will join broking group Aston Scott as group managing director in October.

Rootham left his previous role as joint managing director of Howden UK Retail, part of broking group Hyperion, in June this year.

He was managing director of RKH Insurance Services, the UK retail business of broking group RK Harrison from 2011 until Hyperion bought RK Harrison in March 2015.

Aston Scott group chief executive Peter Blanc said: “[Rootham is] a leading industry figure that I know will help us to achieve our goals, both securing organic growth from our existing branch network and helping me to integrate the acquisitions that we are lining up. It’s a great statement of intent for our business.”

Rootham added: “I’m delighted to be joining Aston Scott at this stage of the company’s journey - helping it to become a leading national insurance broker offering a highly professional and personal service to its clients across the country.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
