New MD to oversee More Than, personal lines broker and affinity

RSA has appointed Mark Christer as managing director of its UK personal lines business.

Christer will be responsible for RSA's personal lines business, which includes More Than, personal lines broker and affinity.

"I'm very excited to have the opportunity to lead the Personal Lines business," said Christer.

"It's a business I know well, with a great management team and I look forward to working with them to continue to deliver great results.”

He has been with RSA for 11 years and was previously managing director of More Than and group chief executive of renewable energy.

Prior to this, he launched More Than Business, was personal lines customer services director and spent three years as e-business manager.

RSA has been searching for a new personal lines boss since November when Mike Holliday-Williams was appointed chief executive of RSA Scandinavia.

Christer will report to RSA UK chief executive Adrian Brown, who said: "I'm delighted that following an extensive global search that Mark has been appointed.

"He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise in personal lines insurance, both direct and through brokers, with a real focus on our customers and I'm confident that with this and his track record of delivery, he'll continue to drive the business forward."

Earlier this month, former Zurich head of broker personal lines Mark Coffey joined RSA as trading director, personal lines broker.
