The many golf fans in the insurance industry will be disappointed that this year's Ryder Cup at the Belfry has been postponed until 2002, following the attacks in the US.

But the postponement brings with it an insurance conundrum – is it part of the original insurable event or is it a separate event and therefore not covered? Insurers may well argue that, while putting the event back a year is understandable in the circumstances, the gesture should be at the expense of the organisers of the Ryder Cup, not their insurers.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
