South Africa is the top offshore contact centre location, according to latest research findings from Ion Group.

The research examined the quality of service provided by call centres in different countries.

South Africa came in top, followed by India then Mexico. The Philippines, Eastern European countries and former USSR nations offered a lower standard of service, the research said.

Ion Group managing director Graham Ede said: “Locations which have been popular for offshore outsourcing in the past due to low operating costs are now facing increased demands from clients for high quality call handling standards, a robust technological infrastructure and multi-lingual capabilities.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
