The headquarters staff of global reinsurer St. Paul Re have returned to their offices, one block away from the World Trade Centre site.
The staff were evacuated from 195 Broadway on 11 September and have been working for the past four months from the company's office in Morristown, New Jersey, temporary space in Jersey City and other locations in the New York metropolitan area.
St. Paul Re chairman Jim Duffy said: "We are delighted to be back in our offices. Our landmark building was relatively unscathed, but full telecommunications service has only recently been restored."
St. Paul Re is the reinsurance operation of New York-listed insurance group The St. Paul Companies.
