St. Paul Travelers has opened a new office in Manchester as part of its ambitious plan for profitable growth.

The company said it plans to add other locations in major insurance centres to strengthen broker relationships and take advantage of new business opportunities as they arise.

Mike Bridge, assistant general sales manager - sales and distribution, said: "This is a crucial time in the development of our company.

"The current competitive market conditions mean that a successful insurer must continually add value to its business proposition. Part of that strategy is to ensure we provide exemplary service to our supporting brokers which means putting more people into more places."
