High street broker Swinton has continued its expansion plans with the acquisition of another five personal lines brokers in the past month.

The latest acquisitions are: the Lincoln and Sleaford branches of Thompson and Richardson, APT Insurance in Reading, Midlands-based JDK Financial and Insurance Services in Nuneaton and the Key Insurance Group in Lancaster.

These acquisitions come on top of the nine brokers Swinton has already acquired this year.

Swinton director Peter Halpin declined to reveal how much Swinton spent on the acquisitions.

He said that with premium income of around £500,000, each of its latest acquisitions is "on the smaller side" of Swinton's plans.

But Halpin said that in its quest for growth, Swinton would be looking at all possibilities:.

He said: "Our strategy has been to target all parts of the country and to target both small and large brokers."

He added that Swinton hoped to complete another two acquisitions in the coming months.

Halpin said that each of the five businesses acquired has been integrated into an existing Swinton branch.
