Lloyd's broker Thompson Heath & Bond (THB) has appointed Peter English in the new role of development director.

English's former roles include deputy chairman of specialist reinsurance broker PWS Holdings plc and managing director of Aon Global Risks. He will report directly to Frank Murphy, chief executive of Thompson Heath & Bond Ltd.

Murphy confirmed the appointment, saying: “I am delighted to welcome Peter to THB and I know that he will be a great asset. His depth of experience, both in London and internationally, will be particularly valuable as part of our initiative to grow our global client base via THB's new international team. “

English commented: “This is an exciting opportunity for me to contribute to THB's long-term growth initiatives as I share the company's enthusiasm for investment in specialist markets. I look forward especially to using my experience to support the new THB Global Risks Division in developing international business in a number of speciality lines, such as Property, Power, Energy, Construction and Casualty, where THB can secure coverage and develop solutions for unusual risks and exposures.”
