Toad has launched an anti-fraud claims validation service for portable satellite navigation systems.
The insurance replacement specialist is developing a database of navigation mapping licenses and serial numbers, to help identify secondary claims and where possible to repatriate stolen equipment.
The service will operate from Toad's Surrey-based claims centre.
Andrew Sarssam, director of sales at Toad, commented: “We believe portable navigation theft presents a growing risk to insurers and these types of claims are particularly susceptible to fraud and exaggeration. This new service will play an important part in controlling costs in this high risk area.”
