Tokio Marine Kiln has appointed Paul Woodward as head of liability for its company platform.

Woodward joins the dual platform provider of specialist and corporate insurance from Zurich Global Corporate, where he was senior casualty underwriter. Prior to moving to Zurich in 2012, he had a 22-year career at Chartis, rising to vice-president.

Tokio Marine said Woodward, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the liability insurance market, will underwrite employers, product and public liability risks for clients in the European corporate sector.

Woodward’s role is designed to complement Tokio Marine Kiln’s specialist liability product portfolio, which has been led by Chris Jones since its launch four years ago.

Tokio Marine Kiln company platform chief underwriting officer Peter Leslie said: “Paul’s appointment forms an important part of our strategy to broaden our capabilities in the corporate market, where he has strong relationships and expertise.

“As broker placing strategies have changed to address clients’ needs, there is increased demand from major brokers to provide multi-line capability, which Paul will work to meet.”
