Belfast broker’s management team to remain with consolidator

Towergate has acquired Northern Ireland broker Dawson Whyte.

Belfast-based Dawson Whyte has five offices across Northern Ireland.

Directors Gordon Whyte, Brian Dawson, Hugh McKinty and Michael McClurg and the other regional directors will remain with the business alongside its 80 employees.

McKinty will take on the role of Towergate managing director for Northern Ireland within the broking division, reporting into Kenny Hogg, regional managing director of the newly enlarged region, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Towergate group chief executive Mark Hodges said: “Dawson Whyte is a business with an exceptional reputation and impressive history. The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
