Loss adjusting firm McLarens is expanding its business in Ireland with the opening of a new office in Derry and the expansion of its Dublin team.

It is the company’s 14th office in the UK as the firm expands across both the Republic of Ireland (ROI) and Northern Ireland (NI).

The Derry office will be headed up by Stephen Wright, a qualified adjuster with more than 30 years’ experience in the Northern Ireland market.

Wright previously worked for a number of leading loss adjusters including Merlin, GAB Robins and Cunningham Lindsey, and has an in-depth knowledge of the local market and a particular expertise in commercial property claims.

Taking advantage of its position close to the Irish border, the Derry office will serve clients in both NI and the ROI.

The company also announced the recruitment of Niall Stratford, who joins the McLarens’ Dublin office from Garwyn to take up the role of executive adjuster.

McLarens UK managing director Trevor Latimer said: “In the UK and Ireland our strategy is very much focused on regional growth to meet client demand. Commercial claims require a highly tailored service and, subsequently, our clients want expert loss adjusters who know, and operate in, their local market – not someone on the end of the phone at a centralised call centre”.

McLarens executive director for Ireland Steven Wallace added: “Twenty years ago, all of the major adjusting firms had offices in Derry, which have since closed, and we are delighted to be now be re-establishing a loss adjusting presence in the North West. This is consistent with our regional approach across the business.”
