Towergate Underwriting Group recently held a charity week to raise money as part of its 2002 charity partnership with Help the Hospices. The company staged a range of fundraising initiatives - including sending chairman Peter Cullum and his executives back to the floor.

Cullum spent the day working at the company's Romford underwriting centre, selling doughnuts and answering the phone. Other executives performed a range of tasks, including preparing commercial renewals and even washing staff cars.

Cullum commented: "I believe cause-related marketing initiatives enhance the corporate soul of a company and this has been demonstrated during our charity week by the fantastic level of commitment shown by Towergate staff in raising funds for such a worthwhile cause."

The company is aiming to raise £100,000 for hospices.
