Seven insurers to underwrite policies from Manchester call centre

 Towergate has named the seven insurers on its new commercial panel for standard SME business with a premium below £5,000.

The panel will underwrite the products from Towergate’s recently opened SME call centre in Manchester.

It comprises: Allianz, Aviva, NIG, QBE, RSA, Towergate Underwriting and Towergate-owned Arista.

Towergate expects to place £150m of gross written premium from Manchester each year.

Group carrier relationship director Derek Henry the panel was chosen after an “extremely diligent tender process.”

“This is an important milestone in our placement strategy and delivers value and consistency for our customers,” he said. “Our chosen panel made clear commitments in support of our focus on service and claims.”

The panel will underwrite 11 products: commercial combined, liability, property owners, shops and offices, motor fleet, commercial vehicle, motor trade, package, contractors, sports clubs and taxi.
