Product recall puts insurance in the spotlight again after manufacturer’s latest recall
Japanese car maker Toyota’s recall problems struck again after it was forced to recall 2.8 million vehicles.
The vehicles were recalled because of a fault with the water pump in the cooling system.
Only last month, it recalled 7.4 million cars after discovering faulty window switches in 12 models.
This comes nearly three years after Toyota’s first recall for 4.3 million cars in which the accelerator may have got stuck.
The problems will once again bring product recall insurance into the spotlight. Toyota has also suffered brand reputation damage, as it was previously perceived as being a reliable car maker.
