Travel insurance provider, Bishopscourt Affinity Solutions, has extended its travel policies to include protection against war & terrorism risks.
Under the cover travellers will be insured for personal accident, medical treatment and repatriation back to the UK.
Bishopscourt chief executive Graham Wright, said: "After 11 September, travel insurers excluded all risks associated with war and terrorism.
""The events in Kenya and Bali have tragically shown that nowhere is entirely safe. As a quality provider, we believe that we should provide our customers with the extra level of cover when they're travelling overseas."
However cover is not provided in countries where the Foreign and Commonwealth Office has advised against travel.
Wright added: "This is not a travel policy for adventurers and risk-takers. It's intended to enable the average traveller to go to normal holiday or business destinations secure in the knowledge that, if the worst happens and they get caught up in a terrorist incident or war breaks out, they are covered for personal accident and medical expenses risks."
