Inter Partner Assistance (IPA) has introduced a new software package to provide a two-way computer link between its call centres and rescue and recovery operations.

The new system will enable call centre staff to deploy jobs more efficiently by issuing information direct to the control room of the recovery operator. The system can also accept emails from rescue and recovery operations.

Nigel Ashton, IPA's network manager, said: “The introduction of the new software significantly reduces the time taken to deploy roadside assistance to stranded motorists.”

IPA plans a second phase of development later this year to further improve its speed of response.
