The UK Subsidence Group (UKSG) has evolved into a new organisation called Ellipta.

Ellipta unites five major firms to provide technical solutions to the insurance industry. It has more than 1,000 technical staff and offices throughout the UK.

Chief executive Geoff Davies said: "Since its inception the UK Subsidence Group has been appointed by various insurers to investigate and successfully resolve over £7m of subsidence-related claims.

"This impressive track record has led us to the conclusion that by restructuring the way any claim is handled, it is possible to save insurance companies and their customers both time and money.

"Ellipta will therefore no longer be containing its activities to the subsidence market, but branching out into all property-related insurance perils, where expert technical advice is required.

"By applying the UKSG philosophy of focusing on the event and resolving the situation quickly, Ellipta will be able to provide a rapid technical claims solution which maximises the benefits for both insurance companies and their customers."
