LV= innovation director wins Tech Champion of the Year at the third annual awards

LV= Fast Track innovation director Rod Willmott scooped the top prize at last night’s Insurance Times TechAwards 2013, taking the crown for Tech Champion of the Year.

Held at the Museum of London, the awards celebrate technological innovation and reward those who are pushing the boundaries with their use of the latest technology.

The industry picked Wilmott for his transformation of LV=’s change, innovation and operations department and his outstanding personal contribution to technology in insurance.

Also among the winners was AXA chief information officer Kevin Murray who picked up the CIO/CTO of the Year award.

Allianz had a triumphant night and was awarded Best Use of Social Media. It was also a joint winner of the Best Use of Technology to Improve the Broker Experience award, sharing the accolade with Staveley Head.

Insurance Times publishing director Shân Millie said: “The standard of entries and presentation was high and the judging panel certainly had its work cut out.

“We never take for granted the time and energy needed to commit to an awards entry process, and our heartfelt thanks go to all those who made that commitment to the TechAwards this year,” she said.
