Broker Simon Burgess of Ultraviolet has issued a High Court writ against IFA network Burns-Anderson alleging a breach of trade mark law.

The company has registered a series of three word marks: Ultra-Violet, Ultra-violet and Ultra Violet. Burns-Anderson has an application for the trade mark “UV”.

The claim alleges that Burns-Anderson used a number of signs “identical to, or alternately similar to, the services for which the claimant's mark is registered”.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
