Toby Wemyss promoted at Willis

Willis Group has appointed Toby Wemyss as chief executive of its Global Markets International (GMI) division, effective immediately.

Wemyss will report to Dominic Samengo-Turner, chief executive of Willis’ London Market Wholesale businesses.

Wemyss, most recently managing director of GMI, started his insurance career at Willis and has been with the Group for 10 years.

Samengo-Turner said: “Toby has the expertise and the relationships, both internally and externally, to expand our capabilities and deliver growth, in partnership with the Willis International network.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
