Zurich Financial Services has appointed Axel P Lehmann as chief executive officer of Zurich North America Commercial (ZNA).
The rating comes into effect in September 2004.
Lehmann will succeed John Amore who is moving to the role of chief executive general insurance.
As ZNA chief executive, Lehmann will oversee all Zurich North America general insurance activities.
The heads of Zurich’s North American units will report directly to Lehmann, and on behalf of the Group Executive Committee, Lehmann will provide leadership fro US small business strategy development, said the group.
Lehmann will move from heading up the European General Insurance Business for Zurich. His successor is yet to be announced.
