Reinstatement premiums of £36m due on re covers

Zurich has estimated that damage claims from Superstorm Sandy will be $700m (£432.3m) in fourth-quarter earnings.

The insurer added that it expected reinstatement premiums due on reinsurance covers of $58m (£35.8m). Quarterly earnings are due on 14 February 2013.

Sandy killed 132 people in the USA and Canada, led to power cuts and caused infrastructure damage.
