The 2000 Lloyd's underwriting year shows a marked improvement in all sectors, but forecasts for 1998 and 1999 have deteriorated, according to Chatset's Lloyd's League Tables Review.
Last year saw no major natural disasters and the review said this would have a benefit to Lloyd's. The deterioration in the 1998 and 1999 years of account is expected to lead to a loss of at least £1bn for both years.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
