Over a third of 18-34 year olds do not have adequate travel cover for their ski-ing holidays, according to Tesco Personal Finance.
Tesco head of insurance Paul Baxter said: "It can cost well over £4,000 to be flown back to the UK following an accident, money that most young people simply do not have. Our own statistics show that people with winter sports policies are 33% more likely to to claim than those whose cover does not include winter sports".
The top five winter sports injuries are:
- knee ligament
- broken tibia
- fractured/sprained wrists
- back injuries
- dislocated shoulders.
