Trakm8, the AIM-listed telematics technology company, said it has extended its deal with the AA.

Trakm8 said it has worked with the AA to develop a new fleet management system, which will be offered to the AA’s fleet customers,

Trakm8 said the system will help large fleet operators and SMEs running fleets of five or more vehicles to manage costs and logistics.

The company said it has supplied telematic systems to the AA for their roadside assistance and recovery vehicles for more than four years.

The system allows individual vehicle data to be tracked, including fuel consumption, driver behaviour and routes taken.

“This initiative for our fleet customers is an important part of the investment in connected car technology that we are developing,” AA strategy director Kirsty Lloyd-Jukes said: “We are looking at a number of options that will add value to our proposition for the rest of our business customers and our personal members.”
