Claims systems specialist InFront Solutions has revealed plans for an aerial photographic database of the UK, to help insurers assess risk, validate claims and prevent claim fraud.

The database would be available on the internet.

InFront director Paul Stanley said aerial photography would allow insurers to map all their policyholders in a certain area and track storm paths, to see which policyholders were affected.

Stanley said the system would correspond with maps and area specific data, which would allow the insurer to search for, and identify, individual properties.

"There's a lot of technology that could be of fantastic value to insurers," he said.

Aerial photographs could also be used to verify motor accident and individual flood and storm claims.

The launch of the system is planned for the second quarter of the year.

Crawley-based InFront was founded in 1999 with £3.5m in backing from London-listed The Innovation Group.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
