Alarm, the National Forum for Risk Management in the Public Sector, is to hold a conference for risk management experts on 18 November.

Alarm said the conference would help professionals from all public sector disciplines manage their risks more effectively.

Sessions at the event in Exeter will be held on the government's Comprehensive Performance Assessment Programme, indemnities, partnerships, risk registers, business continuity planning and fire service issues.

Alarm South West chairman, Mike Hocking, said: "More and more public sector organisations are beginning to wake up to the importance of risk management, and we hope that the event will allow them to develop their strategies and pass on their knowledge to others within their organisations."
