The Alea Group has appointed Trevor Clegg as professional lines underwriter. Clegg joins Alea London as a senior vice-president.
He has over 30 years experience in the London Market having worked at a senior level in both Lloyd's and the Company market.
Alea London chief executive officer Stephen Cane said: "Trevor's expertise will add considerably to the strength of Alea's underwriting capabilities and we are extremely pleased that Trevor is joining us.
"He is a leading figure in his field with significant expertise in Medical Malpractice and other Professional lines business."
Alea London has also positioned itself to move into D&O open market business with the appointment of Adrian Lewthwaite as underwriter and senior vice-president.
Alea recently completed a capital raising exercise which increased its operating capital to $600m (£420m).
