South African-based Alexander Forbes posted a 53% increase in pre-tax profits to £27.9 million (£279m Rands) for the six months ending September 30.
Revenue from total operations grew 49% to £110m (R£1.1bn) for the half year.
Alexander Forbes Financial Services is the group's fastest growing business, with revenue from operations increasing 88%, while revenue from the Alexander Forbes Risk Services increased 23%.
The group acquired the Lloyd's brokers Nelson Hurst in 1997 which switched name to Alexander Forbes in May this year.
