Allianz Cornhill have announced plans to launch a new initiative in the repair of plastic components, in association with the Trade Group.

Allianz Cornhill Motor Engineers have decided to begin using only `Cold Cure plastic repairs' in the near future. In all claim repairs Allianz will use only plastic components.

The move follows growing concerns over the environmental impact of plastic waste disposal.

Training will be provided on site at the approved repairer's premises.

Upon completion of the training initiative, candidates will be issued with a "Certificate of Competence" in cold cure plastic repair methods.

Business Services Manager at Allianz Cornhill, Philip Brailey, said: "In monetary terms using this product will have significant benefit to repairers through sale of their core product, labour, to insurers through reduced costs, and to the environment as a whole by reducing the volume of components deposited in landfill sites."
