Customers can use smartphones to locate, protect and insure their vehicles

Allianz has developed a free iPhone and Android application called ‘Find & Drive’, for motorists.

The application helps motorists to locate, protect and insure their vehicles via their Smartphone.

Using GPS technology, the app allows drivers to locate their nearest amenities, including car parks, petrol stations, tyre centres and MOT test stations across the UK.

Other features include:

  • Automatic alerts to remind motorists of important upcoming car renewal dates and the need for regular vehicle checks, such as tyre pressures and oil levels
  • Safe driving advice to help drivers mitigate the risk of accidents
  • Seasonal vehicle maintenance guides to help drivers to prepare and protect their vehicles and ensure they are in a roadworthy condition

The application can be used to store personal and policy information, capture photos and register renewal date.

Head of direct customer marketing for Allianz Retail, Andy James said: “We appreciate that millions of motorists are Smartphone users and this simple-to-use app provides useful information needed to maintain both their vehicle and insurance requirements.”

“The explosion in app development is proof that consumers are using these channels to access information - we want to ensure that we are meeting this need for motorists.”
