New aviation head Miles Taff to step up next year

Amlin's Miles Taffs is to takover as head of aviation at Amlin London in March 2011.

Taffs will replace Rod Dampier, who has headed up Amlin's aviation underwriting operation since 1997, and is retiring from the business

Taffs joined Amlin London in 2003 as leading class underwriter, aviation.

He began his underwriting career with Minster Insurance and, after mergers with WAIG and Allianz Marine & Aviation, worked across the airline, products, airports and GA sub-classes and later lead the airline business for both of these entities.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
