Lloyd's insurer Antares has appoined James Hannan as terrorism underwriter for its Antares Managing Agency Limited (AMAL) business.

Hannan takes up the position later this month and will report to John Potter, marine, energy & liability manager.

Hannan joins Antares friom Travelers Insurance where he was deputy underwriter, terrorism & political violence.

Joe Battle, active underwriter of Antares Syndicate 1274, said: “As well as bringing the specialist expertise required on the terrorism account, both in terms of underwriting skill and global market knowledge, James has wide-ranging underwriting experience throughout the Lloyd’s market.

"His background in business and syndicate analysis will also be of huge value as we develop this account. “

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
